Abby Lynn Bogomolny is the editor of New to North America: Writing by US Immigrants, Their Children and Grandchildren and the author of three poetry collections Nauseous in Paradise, Black of Moonlit Sea, and People Who Do Not Exist and one chapbook The Lighted Pull of Dreams. Her poetry has appeared in anthologies such as Oakland Out Loud, In the Light of Peace, and The Freedom of New Beginnings; journals such as Quarry West, Porter Gulch Review, Sinister Wisdom; and newspapers such as The Santa Cruz Sentinel.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she earned her B.A. in Speech and Theatre from Brooklyn College, did graduate work at the University of Florida in Mass Communications Research, and earned her M.A. in English: Creative Writing/Poetry. In the 90s, Abby founded the small press Burning Bush Publications and juried its annual poetry prize for a decade. She’s taught composition, reading, basic skills, diverse literatures, poetry and creative writing at a variety of California colleges until her long run as Faculty in English at Santa Rosa Junior College. To this day, she continues to write, teach and stir the cultural soup in Northern California.
